Broaden your horizons

They say that travel broadens the mind and it does. There’s nothing like seeing another country and its people first-hand to improve your understanding of other cultures. So, travel is a very good thing for your education - and it’s a great way to spend time with your friends!

Travel combines social activities with learning, but it doesn’t feel like you’re learning because you’re having so much fun. Of course, there can be a little bit of anxiety and excitement too. A school trip may be your first time away from home. Leaving your family and friends for a while can be daunting, but you’ll soon realise that a good part of any trip is coming home and sharing your experiences. If it’s your first trip, keep that in mind - there’s no reason to be home-sick as you’ll be home soon enough and you’ll have loads to tell people about. And while you’re away, you’ll have your friends and staff to look after you so there’s nothing to worry about.

We’ll provide as many opportunities as we can for you to travel and we look for the unusual as well as the expected. Of course, we run trips to places like France and Germany to help with your language studies but we also try to offer you something different, like trips to China!

Travel really is a great education and we hope that you’ll be able to join at least one, or more, of our overseas visits - you’ll learn a lot, boost your confidence, and mature a little more, as well having a great time!

"Hi, I'm Bethany and I'm in year 8. The travelling at school is really good because we get to go to different countries... The trips really enhance your learning of that subject..."
