Ultimately, studying is what being at school is all about: you’re here to learn, to pass exams, get good grades and from there, be able to go on to do whatever you plan to do with the rest of your life.
To some people studying sounds boring... to others it’s exciting - it’s what’s going to make their dreams a reality!
The people that find study boring don’t usually see the advantage, they don’t understand that time spent working hard now is time spent laying the foundation to getting that penthouse apartment, the little place in the country, or the latest super-car.
That’s how it is here at Slough Grammar; we encourage you to put in your best effort because we want you to succeed in life. The head, teachers and other staff, we’re all sorted, we’ve got the jobs we wanted - now it’s our turn to help set you on the path towards your ideal future - we’re here to help you, but you have to help yourselves too.
So, push yourself, push your limits, be hungry to learn and have fun - the benefit will all be yours!
"Hi I'm Bethany and I'm in Year 8. I really enjoy learning here, as we have some really good teachers and they teach you everything they know."
That word - the one that brings to mind an image of bossy teachers and lots of rules! But, you know a school has to have discipline. Rules are there to keep you safe and to help you, and others, learn; we have to have them. You’ll make your life easier, and improve the lives of those around you, if you play your part - behave well and courteously, and follow the rules. Be proud of doing that.
