Slough Grammar School
Year 7-11 : Curriculum
National Curriculum

The National Curriculum sets out the structure that ensures children in the UK receive a balanced education. Throughout school, periods of education are defined by Key Stages, Key Stage 3 covers lower secondary school; children aged 11 – 13. Key Stage 4 covers upper secondary school; children aged 14 – 16.

Each Key Stage defines a range of subjects that must be taught. At Slough Grammar School we work to the National Curriculum and we have added to that some subjects, which we feel, are essential for the rounded education of our pupils. To discover which subjects are taught during these stages visit Key Stages. To find out more about the subjects we teach, take a look at our subjects page.
Levels of Achievement
Levels are used to define achievement at various stages; you will see them on test results and other reports. To find out what they mean visit the levels page.
