Great Place - Great Friends
While we never let academic standards slip we recognise that, in order to flourish as people, our pupils and students need room to grow and develop on a personal level. So, we do all we can to make the environment of Slough Grammar school a happy, friendly one.
We encourage social interaction between pupils at the appropriate times and provide many ways in which they can come together socially. Break times obviously allow free time for such interaction, but we also promote a friendly and sociable atmosphere through a range of extra-curricular activities such as sports clubs, art, drama and other subject based clubs and activities, as well as offering an extensive range of travel opportunities.
This does two important things; it allows pupils to develop social skills and to make friends. Good friends are important, particularly during school years where there are so many experiences, thrills and anxieties to share. Indeed, many of our pupils have formed friendships at school that last for the rest of their lives. Our ex-pupils network, the Old Paludians, does a great job of keeping ex-students in touch, as well as providing valuable support to the school. This exemplifies the strength of the friendships built at the school and shows the success of our aim to offer pupils a great environment where they can make some great friends.
